Just fresh from dropping her single featuring MarazA, Lobola, Gigi Lamayne just had to switch up on us and bring us a new side to her that we have not seen. 1 Bar is unlike anything we’ve heard from her and we are loving this new street and hood attitude that Gigi The Great is packing. This is certainly a character we are enjoying from the young rapper.
The beat was produced by the popular DJ Abza who has made songs for Cassper Nyovest and the likes. On this he takes a little break from all the Trap music he has been making lately and gives us a great Throwback Thursday sample. The beat has major Kwaito elements and it sounds like the song for summer for real. Can you imagine this bumping in the hood with little kids singing along to it? We can.
Gigi came laced with bars on this, as per usual and she didn’t disappoint but still made the song breathable and listenable enough. Plus the hook is catchy and infectious enough. I see where she wants to take this rap thing and as far as rappers go, she is definitely in her own league.
