A Soulful Cross-continental Collaborations Between Vitu, Serenity Karima & Benny Woods
Collaborations are the cornerstone of great music! There is just something that elevates the music that two artists make when they come together especially if they are from different parts of the world. South African rapper and producer, Vitu, teamed up with Hungary based artist, Benny woods to bring us Play My Way. Peep it!
Play My Way is the second single from a joint Funk and Soul Tape between Benny Woods and Vitu of Arcade Music called Tales of Da Funk Gawdz. This song features the super talented and incredible Serenity Karima from Washington D.C, USA and Artwork by Bara Sketchbook from Nigeria. Glott lended his talent for the production of the song.
“After linking up online and sending beats and verses via email for the last year we decided to put together a 4 track EP that will be released in the next coming months paying homage to the sounds and styles of music that have had a major influence on the current sounds we make today.”
Play My Way is a smooth and thoughtful joint with soulful sensibilities. Serenity Karima pulls through with an old school vibe on the hook which is reminiscent of Soul and Funk music from the late 90’s and early 2000’s. It helps that her vocals blend well with the IDGAF subject matter of the song. Vitu does wonders with his verse and it’s refreshing to hear that he hasn’t lost his lyrical prowess. This is a dope song and incredible blend of artists!

NEW VIDEO: AKA Drops Fully Monochrome Visuals For #FullyIn
Since dropping his highly anticipated third and last album, Touch My Blood, AKA has been on our lips. The album lives up to all the hype and so does the visuals that accompany it. Today, Supa Mega finally dropped the visuals for his latest single, Fully In.
What makes AKA an exceptional South African artist is not only his use of classic and nostalgic drum patterns and baselines in his music. Songs like Amen and Caiphus Song sound familiar and remind us of a time we have long forgotten. It is also not the use of vernac here and there. What makes him unique is his use of classic South African references in his rhymes.
Fully In is the 7th track to be taken off Touch My Blood and it’s the 3rd music video to come from AKA this year. The joint is about him being fully invested in himself, his music and the game. AKA is firmly on his game on this one with the chant-like hook and the on pace flow giving this song a vibrant feel.
Shot entirely in monochrome, the video is highly energetic and sees AKA engage and interact with the locals. The black and white aspect of it makes the video feel timeless yet contemporary feel.
