K.O is doing the things in his new album and no one should argue with that because the amount of talent that makes up the project is impressive. He returns with the gift of new visuals for his joint, Call Me. This one is taken from the new album, Skhanda Republic 2, and it features Nigerian superstar Runtown.
Call Me is an afro-beat inspired song with heavy Skhanda influences where K.O goes a little mushier than we are used to. He is declaring his love for his lover who is evidently not answering his calls. The sound of this song is so fresh and sounds like a cool breeze.
The story follows a guy who ditches his girlfriend, last minute, to hang out with his boys. He spends the whole day with them and when he finally gets home, she’s not there. He tries to call her but it’s all in vain as she is not picking up. He finally gets word that she is in hospital and she’s probably deceased. And the video ends with him holding onto her lifeless body.
The entire video is a tear jerker and gives some depth to an otherwise soft “love song”. The visuals are also so damn fresh! We have to give a shout out to the people who handled everything. The video balances the vibrant aspect of the music with the morose and sad story of the video- it’s actually well done.
