Sipho the Gift has finally dropped the visuals for his latest single, Hold Up. The rapper and producer has been in a new wave recently and the music has been nothing but refreshing.
Unlike his previous joints, Hold Up has a very different vibe and feeling. For instance, we have not heard him on an Afro-beats type of wave. This song has an incredible beat which is easy to vibe to; plus it gives it this global appeal.
Hold Up dropped a few months ago and has been performing very well on various playlists. It has been play listed on Yfm and even charted as far as Russia.
Sipho The Gift is not new to dropping very high quality visual stories which go well with his thoughtful raps and Hold Up is no different. The video for Hold Up is dynamic, vibrant and tells a wonderful story of young love. Plus, the story is told in such a wholesome way and make us want to fall in love.
It was shot in Cape Town at a skate park and shows Sipho, hanging out with his friends. The song narrates a love story unfolding between him and his two friends. Sipho had this to say: “It’s a song about young love and I wanted that to translate through to the visuals by telling a love story.”
The video was directed by Jasyn Howes who did a wonderful job in making the video a contemporary story of young love. Plus the video grading and editing are world class! Clean stuff!
