As the nominees for the #SAMA27 were revealed yesterday, Twitter noticed that Makhadzi was missing again this year
The complete list of nominees for the biggest night in the South African music industry have been released and Twitter is weighing in. The award ceremony is always the topic of discussion and this year, things are no different. From Amapiano asserting its dominance again this year with Kabza De Small leading with 6 nominations to the uproar over Boity being considered for Best Hip Hop Album when most tweeps had no idea she had one out.

But one of the biggest injustices, according to the popular app, is the fact that Makhadzi was snubbed for the awards again this year. This, after her album, Kokovha, is considered one of 2020’s best bodies of work.
Taking to Twitter, Makhadzi clarified that she did submit her album for the SAMA’s this year but she didn’t meet the requirements. “I did submited samas nomination forms but unfortunately maybe I didn’t meet their requirements“, she wrote. This didn’t stop her fans from expressing their disappointment at the snub.

Last year, the SAMA’s were accused of tribalism after Makhadzi’s Matorokisi, Master KG’s Jerusalema and Sho Madjozi’s John Cena didn’t crack it for the public-voted Record of the Year (ROTY) and Music Video of the Year (MVOTY).
