Celebrated South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha has been praised for using her graduation ceremony as a platform to help people who suffer from mental health, Mbatha had the official South African Depression and Anxiety Group’s (SADAG) toll free number boldly printed on the dress she graduated in, to raise awareness. SADAG is Africa’s largest mental health support and advocacy group and is committed to quality counseling, outreach and capacity building work throughout South Africa. Nomzamo’s outfit also had pictures of people she has lost in her life including her cousin Carla, who committed suicide back in 2014.
My dress has the pictures of those I have buried, those who held my heart.
To Courage.
To Resilience.
Overcome.
