All the socialites that matter were in the Free State this past end of the week for the Macufe festival weekend, hotels and lodges were fully booked and the normal sleepy town of roses was buzzing with an electronic atmosphere as it was filled with party animals from all over the country. It was a hectic weekend indeed but my favourite day in Bloemfontein was on Sunday, 12 October where a selection of a number of South Africa’s paramount DJs and artists were due to perform.
At the present for its succeeding repeated visit to Bloemfontein, pop bottles offered its rich multitude of visitors the complete experience allowing for a relaxing afternoon of socialising and networking before moving into a lively nightlife experience as Mzansi’ finest Hip-Hop performers and DJs provided the entertainment on state of the art technical installations.
Situated in Maselspoortroad, off the N8 South to Braam Fischer International Airport Bloemfontein, the highly acclaimed Kopano Nokeng was home to pop bottles Bloem Edition and showcased the likes of DJ Milkshake, Vigilante, Dimplez, Sphectacula, Naves, Super Nova, Lulo Café, Finzo, Shaxe, T-lee, Emjay and 2 Zero. My favourite performances of the day included AKA as he performed his hit track “run Jozi” with Yanga as well as the talented lyricist K.O, Cash Time Life fam also killed it with their whole talent such as Ma- E, Maggz, Kid X , their DJ Vigi as well as Nomuzi Mabena yeah that’s right Nomuzi is officially part of the Cash Time Family and rumour has it that she can rap and she will be releasing a single soon? Well we will just have to wait and see. The Bloem Edition took place from Noon till 22:00 and it was refreshing to see a lot of Bloem cool kids coming out in number to come and enjoy the experience even though I feel that a lot of attendees were actually people from Joburg, this edition was a dope way of wrapping up the party well done to DJ Dimplez.
This was the entrance into the official pop bottles Bloem edititon 2014, this bridge is so narrow that people had to take turns while walking on it coz it can’t handle too much capacity the adventurous thrill that sent shivers down peoples spines before partying made the gig a little more worth it
