PowerPlay® Energy Drink continues to inspire Mzansi youth through the collaboration between PowerPlay® Heroes and seven new creative talents. The Campaign is an extension of the brand’s 2012 work that involved the 48 hour exhibition Powerplay®Griffin SessionsTM and PowerPlay® Heroes documentaries. The campaign will result in Heroes and mentees creating exciting work for the 2013 Griffin SessionsTM. The Heroes will guide the mentees, showing them the ropes and imparting knowledge that will see their mad skills come to life and build their entrepreneurial capabilities.
These mentees are designers, photographers, multimedia/ graphic designers, fashion designers and mix DJs who symbolise the next generation of Heroes within various creative fields. They are: Chumani Tims, DJ Lady Ming, Success Maake, David Tshabalala, Siyanda Sapho, Tamzyn Jade and Tania Pehl. As part of the Campaign the most impressive mentee stands a chance win R40, 000.00 towards pursuing their dream.
Kgomotso Tabane, Senior Brand Manager for PowerPlay® says the brand is committed to encouraging extraordinary talents to hustle to achieve on their terms. “We’re passionate about young talent in this industry and we want to see their dreams of success come to life.” Vuzu, the youth-oriented television channel, has partnered with PowerPlay® so that the public are brought along for the ride. The journey between Hero and mentee will be documented through a unique television show of eight 24 minute episodes. Incorporating creativity, entrepreneurship, lifestyle and entertainment, The show will premiere on Friday, 27 September 2013 at 19h00.

In the build- up to the session, the hero and mentee partnership will hone the mentees’ creative skills as well as provide them with business knowledge and branding know-how.
