They are a haute couture design team that’s loved by Mzansi celebrities. They’ve dressed the likes of Boity Thulo, Dineo Moeketsi and Uyanda Mbuli in their beautiful, red carpet creations. Talented fashion designers, Quiteria Lebohang Kekana and George Malelu are the duo behind the fashion brand, Quiteria & George and the pair will soon spread their threads onto international grounds.

Quiteria & George have been invited to showcase at the inaugural French European Indian (FEI) Fashion Week, which will take place at the Eiffel Tower in Paris later this month. After successfully showcasing their Rise of the Phoenix collection at Durban’s 2016 Fashion Fair last month, the pair was selected by the FEI Fashion Week producer and choreographer, Danny Moodliyar.

The FEI Fashion Week, which will take place on 21 – 23 October on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower, is the first fashion week in history to be permitted the opportunity to showcase at the iconic landmark. Danny, who had the challenge of selecting a team of high-end fashion designers that will form part of the event, says that he chose Quiteria & George because they’re a “perfect fit for this kind of event”.

“I have seen the amazing work Quiteria & George has done with their fashion label and can vouch for their level of commitment, creativity and excellence in workmanship,” he says.

Quiteria & George always aim to tell a story through their designs and have managed to design couture garments that display graphic and intricate handwork elements on each of their unique designs. Their collection is inspired by Africa’s rich cultural shift and modern glamour, which they reference through the use of rich print and patterns.

“We are very excited and honored to showcase at this historic fashion event and represent not just South Africa, but Africa,” says Quiteria & George, adding that the collection will show the world what South Africa has to offer in the creative couture fashion stance.

Well done to Quiteria & George for putting Africa on the map. We look forward to seeing their adventures in Paris.
