On 10 October 2015, Quiteria & George honoured Nandi Ndlovukazi kaBhebe, Queen Mother of the Zulu Nation at the historic exquisite Rand Club in the heart of Johannesburg. The collection embraced elements of Nandi’s warrior nature, high esteem, royalty, respect and elegance. A-list South African celebrities and Quiteria & George friends Dineo Moeketsi, Jessica Nkosi, Jena Dover, Miss Kay, Thando Thabethe, and Tamara Dey strutted the Rise Nandi runway gracefully.
“What a phenomenal way to bit farewell to the magnificent venue that boasts dramatic history closely linked with development of the world’s greatest Gold Field (the city of Johannesburg) with the emergence of modern South Africa, The Rand Club”, say Q&G Fashion co-founder, Quiteria Kekana.
Well known business-woman, socialite and philanthropist Edith Venter was one of the A-list guests that attended the show at the Rand Club and had nothing but positive feedback regarding the Rise Nandi Showcase. “I absolutely loved it. For me it’s my kind of fashion. It’s dreamy, it’s beautiful, it’s feminine. It’s just bringing back that whole glamour to fashion. Those lilac pieces in the beginning for me were exquisite, and it’s jacaranda season.” Venter mused after the show.
“From Zulu warriors welcoming the guests at the entrance, to Zulu dancers, the music, to the detailing on the garments and not forgetting the Q&G silhouette, we had to do it and do it right,” says Q&G Fashion co-founder George Malelu. He added that it was a privilege to be the last brand to showcase at the renowned Rand Club in Johannesburg.
