Here’s A Full List Of #SAMA26 Winners So Far

The 2020 Sama awards kicked off on Monday evening bringing us the virtual award ceremony. This is the first time, in 25 years, that the SAMA’s are not hosted in person. The organisers of the award ceremony decided to move online, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The show is split into 30-minute segments scheduled to air between 3 and 7 August on My Muze by Vodacom and Mzansi Magic (DStv 161) at 21:30. The show is hosted by actress and television presenter Dineo Langa alongside funny man Donovan Goliath.

On the first night, K.O and Nandi Madida walked away with Best Collaboration Award for their banger Say U Will. KwaZulu Natal based star Thokozani Langa clinched the Best Maskandi Album for Upopayi, The iconic Amadodana Ase Wesile scooped the Best African Indigenous Faith Album for Lona Ba Ratang Ho Phela.

The second night saw Prince Kaybee walk away with his first of win of 9 nominations- clenching the award for Best Male Artist for Re Mmino. Samthing Soweto may have lost out to Prince Kaybee but he won Best Afro-Pop Album award for his debut album, Isphithiphithi. Reggae star Bongo Riot bagged Best Reggae Album for True Stories

A lot of people were upset that neo-R&B artist, Elaine didn’t win. She was nominated in the Best R&B/Soul album. Lungisa Xhamela of Idols fame walked away with that one.
