With almost every daily activity moving to digital as a result of Covid, more and more people have been spending a great deal of time in front of their screens. Whether it be work meetings, yoga classes or even downtime, our screen time reports say it all.

Given the disruptive digital world we live in today, it’s important to take breaks and disconnect at times as excessive digital use has been shown to lead to numerous health issues including mental and physical. From feeling moody and fatigued to suffering headaches and neck pains, our digital devices are certainly contributing to some of these problems we have today.

So if you would like to get your energy back and feeling like your best self, make sure to take note of the following digital detox tips:
- Make a list of your favourite activities to do that don’t require digital device usage. Whether it be cooking, painting, writing, drawing or de-cluttering immerse yourself completely in that activity, preferably without disturbances.
- Exercising is also another great activity to immerse yourself in as it not only physically makes you feel better but also works to improve your mental health in the process.
- Have a do nothing day. As simple as it sounds, many struggle to simply unwind and do nothing. Take this day to reflect, relax and learn something new about yourself.
- Focus on sleeping better by paying more attention to your sleep patterns and phone usage especially before bedtime. To help optimize on your sleep, try to put your phone away instead of placing it on your bedside table. Should you be reliant on your phone to wake you up in the morning, now would be a great time to get that alarm clock.
