The sultry singer, affectionately known for her first-class performances on the IDOLS SA 2010 stage where she took the place of 3rd Runner-up, is a Petite girl with a Powerful voice! Sindi, signed to the internationally acclaimed Universal Music for a 5-Album singing contract, was trained at the Kwazulu-Natal University Howard School of Music from 2007 where she soon became a multi-instrumentalist with phenomenal skills in playing the Bass Guitar, Piano & Drums, on top of being a composer, music arranger & powerful vocalist. Sindi, willful & ambitious, has taken the exposure opportunity from the Idols experience & has determined to make a solid name for herself in the bustling African Music Industry. The feathers in her hat include landing one of the lead roles/ personas of ‘Lebo Mathosa- the Drama Queen’ in the recently controversial stage production, ‘The Lebo Mathosa Tribute Show’, has performed in some of SA’s biggest productions including the 2011 METRO FM Awards, the MTN Jazz Festival as well as singing the British national anthem for the final Rugby Test match between England & South Africa at the Nelson Mandela Stadium. It goes without saying that these events had a pan-African to an international reach which proves Sindi’s rapidly-growing International appeal & stature.
Thinking globally & acting locally is what Sindi has endeavoured to do in the past few months with her successful Club Tours ranging from Empangeni, Pietermaritzburg & Durban to Swaziland & Johannesburg. The exquisite & multi-functional venue that will host the last leg of the club tour is none other than SET Venue in Rosebank’s Design District (Cnr Keyes & Tyrwhitt Avenues). Home to many international events & celebrities, SET, in conjunction with Leverage Media (owned by businessman, Lee Dlamini), was the only choice for a grand finale of Sindi’s National tour. She will be mixing her usual melodic, jazzy sounds with the beats of some of SA’s best DJ’s to showcase her versatility & finesse in pleasing an array of crowds whilst simultaneously setting the tone for the year to come. Further entertainment on the night will include DJ Mlu from Metro FM & DJ Lucky. SET will be ablaze with industry professionals, celebrities & fans on FRIDAY, 7th December for the final live performance of the year featuring the gorgeous & highly talented SINDI NENE!
