Sjava, UDUMAKAHLE & Anzo’s ‘Amakhehla’ song that features Vernotile is slated to receive a visual treatment in the form of a music video that’s just gotten teased by a short trailer that not only does well to rejuvenate the song’s experience but showcases the artistic & storytelling prowess that 1020 Cartel moves with.
The song stems from Sjava’s critically acclaimed Isibuko & 3rd Sjava album that dropped last year. The upcoming visuals were directed by Luthando Sigubudu and are expected to highlight the song’s narrative that mostly highlights the meaning of elders and ancestors that watch over us…
Amakhehla – meaning elders but also meaning the ancestors that watch over our lives – are there to guide and protect us in our daily endeavors. We never walk alone; so those that choose to square up against us should remember that the wars they wage are fought not by us alone in the flesh, but also by amaDlozi who wield shields and spears on our behalf. Sjava is joined by the amazing lyricist Anzo and Maskandi great Dumakahle.
