In April 2016, comedian and actor Skhumba announced that he will focus a part of his time and career on raising funds to help communities in need across Gauteng. This idea emanated from a show he had on Kaya FM where some members of the disabled community felt that his jokes could also be a way to bring their plight to the forefront.
Skhumba then hosted a comedy show on Wednesday, 27 July 2016 at the Market Theatre with all proceeds going to purchase fifty wheelchairs to be donated to communities in need.
An alcohol brand heard about this and jumped on board to double the amount and purchase one hundred wheelchairs, bringing the total to one hundred and fifty. 30 wheelchairs will be handed over by Skhumba to each of below beneficiary homes during the month of August between 11h00 and 13h00:
