It’s all checks in this week’s line up of sneaker releases as we take a closer look at the Nike Air Jordan 1 ’85 and the Nike Dunk Low Plum.
Nike Air Jordan 1 ’85
Since it’s first introduction to the market back in 1985, the Nike Air Jordan 1 have continued to shake things up on the footwear scene with its iconic colourways and designs. Today, the legendary silhouette couldn’t be more popular as it showcases classic tones and unique colour blocking patterns. The kicks boast a strong base of black leather which is complemented well by bursts of bold red University Red.
To add that classic element, a white midsole is incorporated into the design. With a sneaker of such great heritage, they simply just don’t make them like this anymore. Sneaker heads will also be stoked to know that the legendary pair of kicks will arrive with retro styled packaging consisting of a drawstring bag as well as an OG hang tag showcasing the great Michael Jordan.
The kicks are set to drop on 8 February at 1pm on the Nike website and will retail for R3,299.95.
Nike Dunk Low Plum
As one of the most loved and adored colourways of the sneaker to hit the streets in the early 2000’s, this classic sneaker is back since it’s one time debut in 2001. Despite the plum design making an appearance here and there in 2011 through high top versions, this is the first time that we are seeing a resurface of the low top again. The pair of kicks arrive dripping in smooth shades of purple suede and highlighted by contrasting accents of maroon red which is incorporated through the laces.
