Adidas and Thebe Magugu embark on a journey of finding beauty with a collection inspired by African heritage, inclusivity and kinship.
Adidas is a sportswear brand that doesn’t shy away from collaborating with other brands. It has successfully collaborated with brands such as Ivy Park, Yeezy, Gucci and Balenciaga. What better time other than woman’s month for South African luxury designer Thebe Magugu to announce this collaboration. The collection is one that is inspired by memories of his family and childhood. He continued to say that this bold collection is on the brink of lifestyle and performance. It was with intention that the campaign imagery features South African nostalgia, his mother Iris Magugu and aunt Esther Magugu.
Adidas x Thebe Magugu – Swim Hijab:
The Swim Hijab is made from Infinitex Fitness Eco fabric that’s ultra-flat, lightweight and chlorine resistant. It also comes with an adjustable inner cap to ensure that hair is kept tucked away and an outer layer that provides full modest coverage.
Adidas x Thebe Magugu – Fast Jacket:
The Fast Jacket is made from smooth woven fabric with a lightweight feel for fast running and racing. It also has a water-repellent finish to help shrug off light rain.

The Adidas x Thebe Magugu tennis collection will launch during the 2022 U.S OPEN on inspirational Adidas athletes Dana Mathewson, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Felix Auger Aliassime, Jessica Pegula and Dominic Thiem. These are athletes who show great passion and support for what matters, they encouraging diversity and inclusivity on and off the court.
