So a lot of people from the East Rand and surrounding areas as well as the rest of the country attended the 4th Annual Spring Fiesta this past weekend at the Wild Waters Complex in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni. This year’s event had a star-studded line-up, outdoing its predecessors. The fiesta has seen great success over the past three years with the 2013 event catering to over 13,000 festival goers which is blend of different people from all walks of life but the one thing that I noticed is that a lot of people who were present on the 4th of October had gold teeth. It’s a random topic and a unsystematic craze to become aware of I know but man there were a lot of them which got me thinking, which city has the most people with gold teeth? Some say its Durban but after this weekend I am convinced it’s the East Rand. Now I am not trying to diss people from the East of Jozi I am merely stating that citizens from poles apart spaces do things differently and I am just acknowledging what I came across, Gauteng is the place of gold anyway and many people here especially those from Boksburg chose to live up to the province’s name by putting some of that gold which our African brothers toil day in day out under the hot underground mines on their front tooth and brag about it, ironic isn’t it? Out of all the pictures we took at the spring fiesta we were able to identify over ten photos with people who have gold teeth on, take a look at some of my favourites…
