Goapele Media, Sun City Resort and Touch HD are teaming up to deliver a weekend-long festival of authentic South African entertainment to get winter sizzling from 23 to 25 June 2017.
The Weekend Extravaganza is in its second year running and the massive three day celebration is the first of its kind for Touch HD, which was launched in March 2017. The event will boast a star-studded line-up of South Africa’s hottest kwaito, hip-hop, house music DJs, Afrosoul acts and comedians.
Some of the music heavyweights featuring at the event include Lira; Kelly Khumalo; Amanda Black; Glen Lewis; Kwesta and K.O, amongst a host of others.
The Weekend Extravaganza kicks off with an evening of outrageous comedy on the Friday (23 June) with sought after comedians at Sun City’s Shebeen.
On the bill for the comedy showcase are Nina Hastie; Elton Mduduzi; Salesman; Mashabela, Peter Mashata hosted by Kenneth Nkosi. Loads of laughter will be topped with an after party with Lerato Kganyago and Patchomitsaka on the decks.

Saturday (24 June) is The Ultimate Youth Fest at Sun City’s iconic Superbowl (Sun Arena).
The day’s entertainment features a super charged line up by popular DJs, Dj Maphorisa; Major League; Vetkuk vs Mahoota; Dj Capital; Sillybean; Naked DJ; Dj Malwela; Dj Cosby and Kyle Worde. With live performances by Kwesta; Okmalumkoolkat and K.O.

The Weekend Extravaganza culminates with the Afrosoul Session, also at the Superbowl, with live performances by Lira, Kelly Khumalo; Amanda Black; Sands (Tigi) and TS. On the decks Glen Lewis; Amon Mokwena; Paul Mtirara; Ismael Abrahams; Lali Spirit and Comfort will play laid back afrosoul grooves.
