Multi-award-winning songstress Ami Faku heads a stellar bill to celebrate the month of love as The Soirée by Stella Artois, returns to Johannesburg on February 24th, with The Lovers’ Edition-at picturesque Toadbury Hall Country Hotel near Lanseria.
In this Valentine’s installment of the popular lifestyle & music event series, eventgoers can expect a distinctive Afro-soul leaning in the music fare with love at the center of all things lyrical. Included on the bill are SAMA award-winning artists Ami Faku, Berita, Zoë Modiga, and rapper K.O. as well as Ricky Tyler, Metro FM DJ & presenter Lerato Kganyago, and DJs Mpako and Deniece Marz.
The Eastern Cape-born songstress, who recorded “Redemption Song” on the posthumous Bob Marley album, “Africa Unite”, last year, Amy Faku has featured on some of SA’s biggest Afro-soul, electronic and Amapiano hits and will undoubtedly have the crowd on their feet with her captivating stage presence.
“The Soirée is such an intimate and meaningful space to perform in as people really make the time to connect with each other. I love being on stage with my band and connecting with the crowd, so I am looking forward to performing at The Soirée,” says Ami Faku.
After winning the prestigious Standard Bank Young Artist Award 2023 as a recipient of the Music award, acclaimed jazz artist, Zoë Modiga, meanwhile, has also said that 2024 will also be the year she releases a follow-up to her critically acclaimed album, “Inganekwane”.
With its mature trees and expansive country lawns, only 20 minutes from both Joburg and Pretoria, Toadbury Hall Hotel is an exceptional setting for the other lifestyle elements of The Soirée – Lovers’ Edition. Artisanal food experiences include hand-crafted culinary offerings from The Prawnery, Che Argentine Grill, Vegan Food ZA, De Baba Eatery and Frites Artois, not to mention Stella draught and cocktails.
Picnic boxes for two will also be available to guests to pre-order picnic boxes for two online which will include a variety of cheeses, dried and cold meats, artisanal bread, spreads, and exotic fruits. Stella merchandise on sale will include cutting boards, to aprons, caps, and limited-edition shopping bags as well as the iconic Stella Artois chalices.
A special live mural, meanwhile, will be created by Cape Town artist & musician, Amy Ayanda Lester, who has built a successful brand of homeware, clothing and original impressionistic artworks & prints which draw inspiration from a rich tapestry of the local landscape, flora and colours. An artist to watch, Amy already has a massive following and collaborated with Woolworths recently on a reusable shopping bag, featuring one of her beautifully designed prints.
