Your Boy Tbo Touch was on DJ Sbu’s history changing breakfast show this morning and it seems he loved it. We listened to the interview and we also relied on Tbo Touch’s twitter timeline to paint the picture for us. The former Metro Fm radio presenters had a lit show that demonstrated that there is obviously life after the popular radio station as long as you are determined to make it work. As we all know, Touch left Metro Fm late last month and we are excited to hear him back on radio, even if it’s for one show. DJ Sbu even gave Touch an opportunity to take the mic. It was DOPE! I have to admit it was a bit strange to listen to these two veterans while I had their history at Metro Fm in mind, haha.
During the show, Tbo Touch spoke about his history and being from the Vaal as well as how he wanted to advance and elevate himself and his hood. He prides himself from coming from a town that has, in his own words, “produced mavericks and revolutionaries”. When speaking of his family he said: “I pride myself from coming from a dynasty of ministries” and spoke highly of his grandfather who introduced the entire family to Christ and thus starting that legacy of salvation in his family. It was some pretty deep stuff.
DJ Sbu asks him about how important is innovation when you’re an entrepreneur and Touch responded and said: “We should never rely on our former glories”. He spoke about how a lot of people still speak about the things that they have accomplished 10 years ago and said that they are not relevant today. He also mentioned that one cannot just say that they have a bachelor’s degree in a certain area of study, one should actually elevate and study further. This was really powerful and sent twitter into a frenzy with his fans commenting on how inspirational this interview was. Here are some of the responses.
