#TBT Remembering Mandla Hlatshwayo In Pictures
Since Sunday night, South Africans have been mourning the untimely death of actor, DJ and radio presenter, Mandla Hlatshwayo. Mandla and his friend Oupa Duma were tragically gunned down at a pub in Soweto after attempting to help two women being mugged outside the Pimville pub.
While the nation mourns, it also celebrates the life of the former Generations actor, who had kept viewers glued to their TV screens for seven years while on the soap. After leaving Generations, Mandla delved into music and went on to become a DJ, releasing an album titled Jozi Nights Volume 1 in 2006. He later went on to pursue radio and worked at Jozi FM hosting a weekend show at the time of his death.
This Throwback Thursday, we pay tribute to this hero in pictures that share the life of the stalwart actor.
According to reports, Mandla’s memorial service will take place at Protea Hall, Protea Gardens late this afternoon (16:00 – 18:00) and is open to the public. The funeral service takes place on Saturday 20 May at 08:00 – 11:00 at Protea Hall and proceed to Olifantsvlei Cemetery.
Rest in peace to Mandla and we send our condolences to his family and friends.
