Hailing from Khayelitsha, a township in Cape Town, a place that is predominantly known for its gangsterism and violent street scenes, Khayelitsha has birthed some of the now revered artists such as The Signatures, Yanga Lingani, Lovo Khwehla to name a few. Cape Town is also known for its Jazz influences and mellow House Music and Deep Consoul bring these influences together in their music.

For the Deep House fans, Deepconsoul will satisfy your every need and give you and listening experience the be savoured and enjoyed. About a month ago today Deepconsoul released ‘Soul In Me’, a twenty track project that takes you back in time. Deepconsoul’s sound of the project closely resembles that of the late Duke Soul. A music ensemble of Percussionist, Pianist, and Saxophonist the bring forth a Jazzy, Afro House cocktail.

Last week saw this sonic cocktail mixing group drop a follow-up project titled ‘The Goodies Vol-6’ which is littered with the soulful mix dub “Memories Of You mix”. The Goodies vol-6 houses eighteen tracks with stellar instrumentation and a scene of a deep meaning which is almost spiritual. The project also gives a nod to the late Duke Soul with a tribute track titled “Your Imprint” which embraces the use of African undertones and the rich use of the Marimba. After a whole festive season of listening to Amapiano left-right and center, Deepconsoul comes as a breath of fresh air and is a pallet cleanser.
