Who will prevail in this week’s fierce Battles on The Voice SA?
Battle fever is raging at The Voice SA as coaches Karen Zoid, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Lira and Kahn Morbee strategically pair up members of their respective teams to fight it out for a spot in the next round. Once these singers have given the performances of their lives, it’s up to their coach to decide who has reigned supreme.
This week the coaches are under immense pressure: How do you pick a winner when you have closely mentored and nurtured incredible talent to bring their A-game – and especially when your colleagues give conflicting input about who wowed them the most? For the talent, it’s also a challenge. The coaches deliberately push them out of their comfort zones and during the lead-up to the Battles, many of them become friends with their opponents.
Viewers can look forward to two battles each from #TeamKahn and #TeamBobby as well as one battle each from #TeamLira and #TeamKaren this week. But there is a twist to the #TeamKaren showdown, which will motivate rocker Alicia-Ann du Plessis (22) from Cape Town and fitter and turner Almur Marais (25) from Stilfontein to strut their stuff like never before.
Then, Lira makes an interesting move by picking two singers who elicited turns from all four of the coaches during the Blind Auditions to Battle against each other. Popular teacher and humanitarian Tshegofatso Makhafola (27) from the West Rand is up against Sibulele Miti (27) from Cape Town in what promises to be an epic duel.
There’s also a special treat for fans of Afrikaans music when Bobby selects two of his talent to perform Corlea Botha’s classic “Swart Koffie”.
This promises to be one of the toughest Battle rounds ever, and if you want to try your hand at the Coaches’ tough choices during this week show, be sure to downloadThe Voice SA App on Android or iOS.
