So it’s Friday and just in case you’ve been living under a rock the entire week, we’ve got you covered with the end of week news wrap-up! Here’s what’s been happening in celebville this week!
So, last weekend was the YOU Spectacular Awards right? And apparently, a lot of spectacular things happened there! According to various media reports, Top Billing presenter and new Top Chef SA host, Lorna Maseko was a drunken embarrassment at the awards as she rambled on about being a newly single woman, while dropping the F-word in one of her speeches on stage!
While presenting the Rising Star award with comedian Anne Hirsch, Lorna told the audience that she is now divorced and a single woman. She also went on about short men, before telling the crowd just how much she wants to be a rapper! Apparently, it got so bad that Anne had to take the mic from her, after she said she’s ready for a lesbian relationship with the comedian! Can you spell awkward?
I, for one, watched Top Billing last night and saw Lorna’s apparent intoxication as she presented and interviewed the winners for Top Billing on the night. I don’t know about you, but her demeanor was “outlandish” as she interviewed the likes of Minnie Dlamini and Katlego Maboe; the Expresso presenter she allegedly kissed and may have cheated with during her marriage to Gcina Lukhele! If you don’t believe us, please catch the show’s repeat this Sunday!
Could Lorna be having a possible meltdown after the divorce? We wonder!
In other scandalous news, Big Brother Mzanzi finalist and presenter, Mbali Nkosi is said to be dating, former Kaizer Chiefs striker, Kaizer Motaung Junior! A popular Sunday tabloid reports that Kaizer and Mbali were seen kissing on Hyde Park’s rooftop last week. This would be a very interesting development, considering that Kaizer is still married to his wife, Kathrine Motaung, who he’s accused of physical abuse and has subsequently gotten a protection order against!
According to the tabloid’s sources, Mbali and Kaizer have been sneaking around for the longest of time and are often traveling and dining together!
If it is indeed true, then Mbali is one brave woman, to get mixed in this mess! What do you think?
And in other positive news, our girl B is heeding the call to make a difference in people’s lives this year! After donating R6 500 to a student who could not afford tuition fees, earlier this month, Bonang has decided to go one further and launch her Bonang Matheba Bursary Foundation! She has yet to announce when the foundation will be launched and if any other institutions will be partnering with her! Kudos to the Queen for doing her bit for humanity and those less fortunate!

Finally, Pabi Moloi, Kuli Roberts, Shaka Sisulu and comedian Nina Hastie, are the latest addition to the SABC’s new 90% local content shows. The four will host a new panel talk show called, Trending SA, which will see the personalities discuss trending hashtags of the day! The show, which will debate trending topics, debuts on Monday 25 July, and will air at 12PM on SABC 3, daily.
