Founded in 2010 in the vibrant city of Lagos, Nigeria, Maki Osakwe opened up the doors of her very own fashion brand, Maki Oh. This womenswear brand which is celebrated and admired for its unique ability to fuse traditional African techniques together with detailed contemporary construction is strongly focused on exploring the sense of identity and culture. For the brand, fashion design is far more than just the physical beauty as it makes use of textured, layered as well as three-dimensional aesthetics that all work together to embody philosophies of sustainability, strength and simplicity.
