
Yesterday we attended a press conference at the new TRACE Africa headquarters in Johannesburg whereby Olivier Laouchez who is the TRACE Co-founder presented the TRACE innovation strategy for 2013. Started in 2003 as a niche urban music TV network in Europe, TRACE has transformed into an inspirational global brand and multimedia digital platform that provides tens of millions of young people with two of their preferred entertainment content: urban music and sports celebrities. One of their many innovative strategies for the year is the TRACE Mobile Song Contest (TMSC) which is launching in March 2013. TMSC is a competition where anyone can call an IVR phone number, sing and record a song for one minute. The winner of the competition gets a record deal, cash prize, production & promotion of the first music video as well as a coaching session in the USA with Akon.
