Today we bring yet another installment of one of our favourite features, Trap Tuesday. As usual, we take a look at the hottest Trap songs out right now and profile the artist. These songs may not be made by the most popular rap artists in the country but they are just as hot and strong. Take a look at who we found today.
Andile Sicetsha who is also known as Calley is a rapper and entrepreneur from Cape Town. He has been making rap music since high school and formed a few groups with like minded rappers. In 2014, he released his debut single titled Dreams N Things featuring Loo West and this track got him plenty of attention from the underground.
Since then he has done a lot to cement himself into the industry. He has participated in the hip hop reality show The Hustle, released music and has also worked with plenty of up and coming rap and R&B artists. He has also launched his independent record label I Wish U Wud Entertainment to which he is also signed to.
He just dropped the video for his track Propane featuring Kid Koncept and produced by hEdE. This track should be the anthem for all lituations, you know, a culmination of several lit things happening at once. The track is about lighting up the club with 20 bottles of propane so what more can we expect? The track has a lot of Trap influences which makes it trendy and current.
The quality of the video is proper and the visuals are also stunning. The music video was shot by Marlon du Plooy, in Cape Town. The switch up between the black and white and red hues is fabulous. Plus the studio shots are anything but boring, the projector effect is dope. The video is clean and simple.
This video for Propane was hotly anticipated (no pun intended) and officially dropped on the 21st of October. The response to the video has been great and even got a shout out from the King of House, Black Coffee. The award winning DJ cited, in an Instagram private message, that it was a great body of work for an independent artist.
Check Calley out on his Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Also check out his Soundcloud page for more on his music.
