We are back with possibly the last Trap Tuesday feature for the year and we just had to end it off with a bang – well sort of. You know how we use this feature to highlight talented rappers who make Trap music and this is how we celebrate the genre of music. Today we take a look at young rapper, Darne Maćino.
Darne Maćino is a Carltonville-born rapper who first gained prominence when he dropped his first official release, Down for the Night for free on Soundcloud and DataFile host platforms. His track, Alcoholix, reached thousands of downloads on DataFile Host and also received critical acclaim from the hip hop community.
Darne’s passion is to create music that has a profound impact, and introduce music with a different feel to the traditional Hip Hop theme. With an inner conviction to change the face of Hip Hop music locally, he is on the quest to establish himself as a renowned musical icon both in Africa and globally.
He recently dropped a track titled Lately and it is a festival of heavy baselines and playful keys. His rapping skills are on point plus his music is not just for the regular 20 year old’s. His music is actually about his ambitions, how he wants to pop champers and live the high life. Lately is a clear club anthem and plus the sound he has going on is fresh and sounds international.
The rapper is currently studying Sound Engineering at the Academy of Sound Engineering in Johannesburg and he is signed to Change Records.
