This past weekend we got invited to Durban to attend the launch of the Unique Lifestyle Cafe which is located in Umhlanga.
The restaurant is owned by a couple, Calvin and Sma Mathibeli. Their resume’s are impressive even without the addition of their eating establishment that they just launched. Calvin is the founder of Calvin and Family Group, an organization which consists of three Companies, namely: Calvin and Family Properties and Development, Calvin and Family Securities as well as Unique Communications. Sma on the other hand is the CEO of Calvin and Family Group (CFG) and she is also a content producer at Ukhozi FM.
The scenery of the restaurant was breathtaking and the decor was clean; the mood of the place was wonderfully captured. They serve African and Italian cuisine which they call Afratalian. The food was absolutely amazing and everything, from the lamb chops to the calamari tubes and even the pizza was on point.
The performances of the evening were thoroughly entertaining and the guests had a fantastic time jamming to the sounds of the band that was playing old school jams. Candy Mofokeng also had the crowd entertained with her highly spirited performance.
The evening was a star studded affair with people such as the legendary Hashi Elimphlophe and his wife Linah Khama. Eric Macheru from Skeem Saam, Ntando Duma from Rhythm City and Siwe Dweba from Generations who was the MC for the evening.
