The MTV Base Urban Smooth Sessions Headed to Soweto With Mi Casa, Mafikizolo, Uhuru, Dr Malinga, Vetkuk vs Mahoota, DJ Vigilante, DJ Milkshake and DJ Clock on the 25th of July. Celebs and twelebs as well as everyone who’s anyone went down to Soweto for the latest edition of the smooth sessions. The whole idea behind this event is mixing live sets from contemporary urban stars with the coolest DJs in the country, blending kwaito with house, hip hop, AfroPop and other popular grooves, for the smoothest, weekend chill-out.
Holding it all together were the MTV Base Veejays Nomuzi Mabena and Sandile Ntshingila, The Urban Smooth Sessions have been touring the country’s hottest urban hangouts and clubs since 2011. Previous editions have served up stunning performances from Bucie, Big Nuz, Nandi Mngoma, Zakes Bantwini, Donald, L’Vovo, Afro’traction, Liquideep, Busiswa, Goldfish, Jimmy Nevis and more, alongside hot DJs like DJ C’ndo, DJ Shimza, DJ Sphectacula, DJ Franky, Twins on Decks, DJ Lulo Café, DJ p.H, DJ Loyd, Funky Soul, LAB, Joey Drumz and Benny Maverick.
