Dibi displays sheer rhyming skills on the Nokthula Freestyle
Rising rap artist, Dibi releases his first single for the year and it is intended to pay homage to one of our country’s biggest and brightest stars. Titled Nokthula Freestyle, the new song is named after one of Cassper Nyovest’s most recent hit, Nokthula.
Cassper Nyovest tweeted, “…We finally have a chance to take over Africa if we work together.” Dibi felt inspired to take heed of this message. Throughout Dibi’s career, audiences have most enjoyed him for his freestyles. Dating back to his Instagram #FreestyleFridays series and winning the Universal Music Group’s Kendrick Lamar DAMN Freestyle Battle, Dibi is paying homage to Cassper Nyovest with his Nokuthula freestyle.
Coming in at a little over a minute and a half, the freestyle is a succinct reminder of the skills that Dibi is known and loved for. And if this is the first time you are encountering the charming wordsmith, then this freestyle is meant to formally introduce to the guy who is working his way up in the game, ready to take it over. An effortless display of superior rhyming skills and a laid-back cadence to match.
“When I bumped Any Minute Now, Nokuthula stood out for me, mainly because of how he blended the drill vibe with a local flavor. When I came across the beat on the net, I wanted to add my own sauce too. I have mad respect for Cass and the idea to recreate the “Tsibip” video was my way of saluting him.” – Dibi
