Focalistic has finally unleashed the music video for Never Know alongside Cassper Nyovest. The old school Kwaito feel of the song is the perfect tempo for the kind of reflection and insight we get into his thoughts we get from Never Know.
In the lyrics, Focalistic wonders why a particular girl loves him. Instead of questioning it any further, he flexes on the non-believers detailing how her fascination with him is boosting his ego. He raps:
“Ngambamba mahlombe, ngambamba mahips/
And when I sleep, uthath’ isthombe/ Groupies abathol’ niks
That’s why I flex on the niggas who never ever believe”
Handled by Clout Cassette, the music video follows a young female fan whose fascination with Focalistic is a tad bit over the top. She has pictures of him everywhere, stalks him on social media even though she’s with another guy. She finally gets to meet her idol and this is where the video ends. This could be the beginning of another video or song, who knows?
Never Know dropped back in November 2019 and from there it was clear that this is a bop. The addition of Cassper Nyovest to this was ideal since both artists are adaptable to different genre often lending their voices to Amapiano, Kwaito-influenced and straight Trap beats. It’s refreshing to see.
