These guys got moves.
The two most dominant dance street culture movements in Mzansi right now have to be the Gqomwave as well as Amapiano, these two sub-genres of house music have swept through the country like a heatwave.
Each one comes with it’s own style of arrangement and both have a unique following. One thing that these two house scenes share, is the Love-Hate relationship that South Africa has for them.
House music has always carried with it the ability to make people move. With that, people have always responded with upping their dance moves to match.
We have assembled a couple of dance moves videos from both sub-genres.
Amapiano Dance Moves:
DJ Papers is one of the most influential Amapiano Deejays and has gripped the movement with his dance moves. His dance moves have had the likes of Cassper Nyovest following suit.
DJ Papers is known for dancing with a bottle or glass in one hand while busting moves using the bottle or glass.
Gqom Dance Moves
DJ Cleo also took the Gqom scene by storm with his hit track Yile Gqom. The track features Winnie Khumalo and Phantom Steeze.
Just like the Papers, DJ Cleo had his own dance challenge for Yile Gqom.
So which one wins? Gqom or Amapiano?
