Prolific producer, Makwa releases colourful visuals for Ayipheli alongside MarazA and AKA
Award winning producer and artist, Makwa has finally released the visuals for his 2019 hit single, Ayipheli. The song, which is a mesh-up of Kwaito and Amapiano, features MarazA and AKA.
Ayipheli dropped in the middle of what would be a dry summer for SA Hip Hop. The mid-tempo and laid back feel of the song however catered for an audience who appreciate the unconventional Hip Hop song. Plus, Ayipheli is a feel good song with an upbeat and festive message.
The visuals for Ayipheli are satisfyingly colourful, almost lending itself to a carnival feel. Set in what looks like an open field in the hood, we see the gents perform for a crowd of people. They seem care-free and mingle freely with each other and the people. Yanga Chief and Kwesta are some of the people who make an appearance in the video further cementing the feeling of brotherhood and community.
Ayipheli is the lead single from his unconventional EP, Umshubelo, which dropped in December 2019. Umshubelo is an 8 track offering which features the likes of Tweezy, Gobi Beast and Berita to name a few. The distinct fusion of Kwaito and Afro-Pop is Makwa’s magic touch and he does a wonderful job in celebrating South African sounds.
Umshumbelo is available for purchase and streaming on all major digital stores.
