Nathi Mankayi Finds A New Home At Gallo Records

We recently attended a press conference where it was announced that Nathi Mankayi will be signed under Gallo. The award winning Afro-soul singer left his previous record label, Muthaland Entertainment under a dark cloud. But things are looking up as he has announced that he is now signed under Gallo with a new manager and a new album on the way.

“Today I have signed an agreement with Gallo to work with them from here onwards. Now, I won’t be doing things alone; there are people like Gallo who are here to help me with whatever it is I will be doing,” he says.

Regarding leaving Muthaland, the soft spoken singer expressed that he wanted to grow. “The reason I left Muthaland is because I wanted to see myself grow because it doesn’t work when you’re always doing the same thing. Everybody wants to see themselves grow from the person they once were”.

His manager, China Mpololo expressed that they were not looking for a deal with Gallo but instead, they were approached by the powerhouse record label.

“The fundamental principles that we emphasized is the fact that Nathi has got nothing more to prove in the country. There is no male Afro pop artist who has achieved what he has achieved. All we need now is to take this brand to African continent and to the entire world,” he expressed.

He Has A New Single And A New Album On The Way

His latest single, Qeqe (Emathandweni) is well received across the country. It has already set the tone for what fans can expect from his upcoming album.  The song is inspired by love and describes a relationship that drives a person crazy to the point of being abnormal.

Regarding his upcoming album, Iphupho Labantu, he said: “This album was named Iphupho Labantu because I believe the path I am walking is everybody’s dream.”

We look forward to his upcoming album! Purchase the song on all major digital stores.

Check out the interview we did with him below!
