Okmalumkoolkat premiered the visuals for La Liga on MTV Base last week and we are excited because he has released them on YouTube. The single dropped about 6 months ago and the response has been entirely positive.
La Liga is the fourth single to come from the artist and it is taken off his highly successful album, Mlazi Milano. The single uses soccer wordplay and metaphors to create a song which goes way deeper than we could have imagined. He touches on many subjects, from his life as a Spovington (a street wear kid). He also touches on inspiring the youth about making it out of the township.
The video for La Liga is just as good as we see Okmalumkoolkat in the streets of uMlazi and the city of Durban. He is dressed to the nines, as per usual, and getting his fair share of exercise in. There are tons of sports memorabilia, like trophies, to remind us exactly what this song is about. And if that wasn’t enough, the stadium, martial artists and him playing soccer with the youth tie it in nicely.
La Liga is a great music video which matches the pace of the song. Well done to Sky Star Films for shooting the visuals.
