Check out the Red Carpet Premiere of Five Fingers for Marseilles movie, 2018 is turning out to be an exciting year for South African film. ‘Five Fingers for Marseilles’, a western that tells the story of a group of young men (the ‘Five Fingers’) who stand up to brutal police oppression in Marseilles, a town in the rugged badlands of the Eastern Cape opens at cinemas nationwide on 6 April. The film has already lit up the global festival circuit and has earned excellent reviews. Casting began five years before production, with multiple generations of South African talent joining the project, from veteran stars Jerry Mofokeng, Kenneth Nkosi, Hamilton Dhlamini and Mduduzi Mabaso to relative newcomers Lizwi Vilakazi and Warren Masemola. Vuyo Dabula, star of television’s ‘Generations’, steps into a career-defining lead role, carrying the film with flair, opposite Zethu Dlomo, fresh from her starring role in US drama series Black Sails. Dean Fourie, Kenneth Fok, Brendon Daniels, Anthony Oseyemi, Garth Breytenbach, Tseko Monaheng, and Mosili Makuta round out a stellar supporting cast.

Behind The Scenes Of The Boiler Room x Ballantines True Music Forum
On June 20th Boiler Room x Ballantines hosted a forum in Johannesburg as part of the finale of the True Music Africa tour at the Victoria Yard venue. The evening was broadcasted live across Boiler Room channels. The Boiler Room x Ballantines True Music Forums are a space for the international music community to connect and exchange ideas. The third Forum was hosted the day before the final event of the True Music Africa tour. The day comprised with an interview with a South African recording artist, DJ, record producer and businessman Oscar Bonginkosi Mdlongwa, popularly known by his stage name – Oskido. The first discussion focused on the ways in which Digital Transformation across the continent has been catalysing creatives whilst the second one was a deep dive into the impact of Club Culture on the Birth of New Genres. Each of these three sessions were broadcast live to an international audience. On the night, we went behind the scenes and had a chat with Tom Elton who looks after the Ballantines brand as well as the music & marketing expert from Boiler Room Steven Appleyard.
