It’s a brand new week and we are all getting ready to conquer all the challenges that the week has to offer. But before we begin, let us look back at what happened this past weekend and all the news that caught our eye. Get your packet of chips and something to sip on, this is going to get interesting.
First up is the lawsuit that Penny Penny has dodged from Muzuki Phoolo, Cassper Nyovest’s mom. The rapper’s mom had filed a R1.5-miillion lawsuit against Papa Penny and Drum magazine. Remember when the legendary musician came out earlier this year and claimed that he not only has an eccentric hairstyle in common with rapper Cassper but also that he fathered him? He did an exclusive interview with Drum magazine where he confirms that he is indeed the rapper’s father but obviously Cassper denied this. Sunday World reported that the magazine has offered Muzuki Phoolo R100 000 in damages and will also pay for her legal costs, which are believed to be more than R100 000 as a settlement. Yho! Papa Penny dodged a bullet hey! Naye he must stop claiming other people’s kids and stay in his lane. The less said about Drum, the better.
Daily Sun ran a story about trouble brewing for award winning Kwaito duo Big Nuz. These guys do the most on every track that they are on. But anyway, according to the newspaper, sources close to the situation, Tshomela, known to his fans as “Danger”, is uncertain about the future. This after it emerged that group member “Mampintsha”, real name Mandla Maphumulo, is allegedly busy with his own thing while Danger is left in the dark. Eh! Mara why vele? If you have a good thing, why would you want to mess it up? If Mampintsha is indeed going solo than he has to really release some lit stuff, he owes it to us.
Lol, don’t you just hate it when you’ve put on a little weight and you have a boep or fuller face and people point that out? It’s even worse when they ask you when your due date is as if you’re expecting to give birth. That’s a bit awkward and uncomfortable to say the least. This happened to actress and TV presenter Nonhle Thema recently during the shoot of Comedy Central Roast Battle where she is an MC. Daily Sun reports that a “stunned show audience” questioned Nonhle’s umkhaba but she quickly put the rumors to rest and claimed that she’s not pregnant. What do you think? Could she be covering up or kanjane?
We have BEEEEEN saying that Nandi Mngoma is pregnant bakithi! I mean after the hush hush wedding to Zakes Bantwini that happened with only their close friends, we knew that something was up. We were happy for them when we saw the huge rock on her ring finger and saw the unmistakable glow she had when she jetted off to L.A where she stunned the world at the BET Awards. Well, Sunday World has it on good authority that the 28 year old is about 20 weeks pregnant and is expecting her bundle of joy in mid-November. That’s exciting news for the songstress and we already can’t wait for her the Instagram baby pics!
If artists are not breaking up they are wanting out of their contracts! Kanti zkhiphani? So Kalawa Jazmee artist Candy Mokwena, aka “Kalawa Chikita”, is said to be frustrated and wants out. The musician is known for her hit single, Tsa Mandebele, which earned her and DJ Oskido a Metro FM Music Award in 2013. It is now alleged that the tables have turned as she hasn’t been getting gigs and her studio album wasn’t promoted as well as her single. If her music is good and she has a following then why aren’t they making the most of that and ensuring that she put out more dope music? I mean she had already proven that she can win awards so she’s capable. What must to can happen now? Hai…
The beauty about living in a country like ours is that we are in touch with our culture and being called by our ancestors is not a strange occurrence. Remember when we did an article on the celebrities who are sangomas and healers right after Boity confirmed that she is also called to heal? Well another celeb has come out and confirmed that he is training to be a healer. Ashes to Ashes actor Nyaniso Dzedze‚ known for his role as Tsietsi on e.tv’s Ashes to Ashes‚ is undergoing training to become a spiral practitioner. The actor is currently in Australia where he is undergoing training for a type of chakra-based energy healing that explores and integrates one’s past‚ present and future. It may not be ubo sangoma but it is up there with it alternative forms of healing. We wish him all the best with this!
