We’re loving Olwethu Leshabane’s Queen’s Plate Outfit

Olwethu Leshabane has firmly established herself as a fashion icon.

2019 is starting off on a very good fashion note as Mzansi’s much talked about fashionistas flocked the Kenilworth Racecourse to celebrate the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate racing festival. From award-winning hip hop acts to reality stars, this event is deemed as one of the most stylish occasions on the Cape Town calendar.

Guests were asked to comply with the blue and white dress code, which pretty much limited those with flamboyant taste in fashion. Nonetheless, what caught our fashion radar is someone who needs no introduction – Olwethu Leshabane.

Real Housewives of Johannesburg star Olwethu Leshabane knew just what to wear to turn heads. However, the beaut didn’t stick to the theme as instructed, but the self-proclaimed digital doula proved that fashion rules are meant to be broken.

Styled by SAFTA nominee and designer Lehasa Molloyi, the former first princess of the celebrated beauty pageant Mrs South Africa, showed some skin in a lengthy number that did justice to her toned legs. The camera lens solely focused on her slim figure, which makes it hard to believe that she is a mother to three beautiful boys.

We also noticed the shade she firmly displayed in a ultramodern hat from TumiBuys Style, and of course, the entire look wouldn’t be complete without Olwethu’s signature essentials, one of her many colorful doeks.

The outspoken media personality is known for her bold choice of doeks that she wears from time and time and her social media feed is packed with colourful ensembles that continue to impress her followers.

Had to change my outfit and water it down slightly. Was worried I would distract the horses

She expressed on Instagram.

The wider the pants, the better!

It’s no brainer that these pants are trending this season. This fashion staple used to be a must-have back in the day and it’s refreshing to see our much loved public figures rock this iconic look.

SEE celebs that ditched their skinnies for the wide-leg pants:

One of the celebrities that pull off this trend well is DJ Zinhle. This semi-formal look shows off her feminine side and we love how she kept it casual with converse sneakers.

Model and reality star Blue Mbombo works this signature boho-modern-edge style from Tee Stylish like a pro! She teamed this attire with simple gold accessories and black stylish flip flops.

If you have a similar looking outfit, you can switch it up a little with a chunky neck piece and stylish wedges.

We’re feeling these mustard pants Londie London is wearing from her clothing label FLY. This is a brave look that many can’t pull off and we love how she kept her top clean to allow the shape of her fitted trousers take centre stage for a change.

Celebrated choreographer Bontle Modiselle kept her daytime look simple and casual. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but this stunner works it with a hint of sass.

In between her demanding career, fashion designer Thuli ‘StylealertSA’ Mola makes this tailored jumpsuit look good!

She teams her floral outfit with very minimal accessories and a stylish hat that is slightly tilted to show off her curls. This look is perfect for a lovely day out with the horses.
