We’re not even going to front, celebs wearing the same clothes has become a common occurrence. The number of celebs twinning has increased and while it doesn’t phase us anymore, we still like to ask the question on everyone’s mind – who wore it better. While twinning day-to-day fashion is expected, similar red carpet looks are not.
We spotted three celebs donning dresses that eerily resembled each other. We first saw the dress on golden girl, Bonang Matheba at the New York Fashion Week in September when she cracked an exclusive and personal invite to the elite fashion show. The Top Billing presenter turned heads when she wore the gown at one of the shows.
Queen B had paparazzi snapping her up in the statement dress by Hollywood celebrity designer, Maria Lucia Hohan.
Fast forward to November at the Feather Awards, talented singer, Kelly Khumalo, looked heavenly as she performed in a longer version of the dreamy dress. Kelly’s gown was a clean-cut, bridal version – also just as elegant as Bonang’s – created by Mzansi designer, Khothatso Tsotetsi.
Then just a week ago, interim OPW presenter, Jessica Nkosi rocked up at the Crown Gospel Awards in a whimsical white garb that almost matched Bonang and Kelly’s dresses.
The actress took to the red carpet in the breathtaking gown by Durban-based luxury brand, Zarth Designs. Unlike Bonang and Kelly’s version, Jessica’s fairy glam dress had a rope, cross pattern neckline with a peplum detail. Take away the extra frills and the dress resembles that of Bonang’s and Kelly’s.
Whether the designers had the same bout of inspiration or played on each other’s creativity, we don’t known, what we do know is that all these ladies nailed their respective looks.
What do you think? Who wore the bridal gown best?
