Young Revolution (YR) concluded a well-attended five-day conference on business management and entrepreneurship that featured prominent speakers and industry leaders from across the country and saw a robust youth participation from high school students to young business professionals. The event organizers on their part expressed their gratitude to co-sponsors SEDA and also to the speakers for their efforts especially the ones who came from across the country. The event which was formally opened by Mr McLean Sibanda (CEO: Innovation Hub) on the 27th of August featured top speakers including Cllr Kgosientso Ramokgopa (Executive Mayor: City of Tshwane), Mr Jeff Borns (Missions Director: USAID/Southern Africa), Mr Steven Ngubeni (CEO National Youth Development Agency), Mr Allon Raiz, Ms Jayshree Naidoo, YorkZucchi, Prof. Jurie Van Vuuren, Douglas Kruger, Mr Abey Mokgwatsane, StevenDelport, Mr Yusuf Mahomedy and Ms Brenda Roopai.
Commenting on the event, Mr. Lawrence Umukoro, Event Director of Tshwane Entrepreneurship Week said, “This conference was successful in highlighting the critical challenges facing both young business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in South Africa. The event speakers were effective in providing practical solutions to theseissues.” Event partner, Jordan Johns (CEO: Parting Enterprises) commented “I found the entire event very inspiring. The issue for me was to recognize that there are other entrepreneurs out there who share my problems. I also learned the importance of networking and selling myself as a brand”.
