On Thursday the 31st of May we attended the globally distinguished singer Zaki Ibrahim most recent album release called Every Opposite, The event took place at an intimate invitation only inn at the great dane bar in Braamfontein, the gig was supposed to start at 18:30 but coz of the “African time” it started at about 20:00 instead and I ain’t complaining coz Zaki’s mesmerizing performance was worth the wait. The stage show for Every Opposite showed us Zaki’s multi-dimensional talents as storyteller, performing artist, director, choreographer, fashion icon and an individually talented vocalist. For those who might not know her, this interesting songster is behind the dreamy vocals to DJ Kent soulful tech tune Sunrise and appears on the new Culoe de Song album Elevation. Zaki who is a South African citizen, born in Vancouver Canada is set to release this album nationally on the 4th of June.
