It was celebrations all around this weekend for the celebrities of South Africa. We had Bonang attending Demi Leigh Tebow’s fabulous fairytale wedding, DJ Lag pulling up at the glamours Grammy awards in LA, California and Mihlali reaching 1 million followers on the Gram.
Queen B had us shook when she rocked up in a beautiful black dress designed and made by the famous local fashion designer that is Gert Johan Coetzee. Not only did he make Bonang’s dress but he also made the bride’s dress as well. Although it might not have been for her wedding, Demi Leigh wore a stunning white cross halter neck dress by Coetzee to a welcome party the bride threw for her husband prior to their wedding.
Over in LA California we had DJ Lag representing Mzansi attending the star studded event in support of Beyonce’s nomination. DJ Lag forms part a group of local artists that were handpicked to create and work alongside Queen B on her album, “The Lion King: The Gift”.
Lag opted for a more relaxed approach to his outfit for the night rocking a grey suit with a pair of white kicks.
“It is an amazing time for our music and being here in this capacity is an honor. I know many of the African artists who participated in the production of The Gift are not attending the awards, so I am here to represent all of us and especially my sisters Moonchild and Busiswa, who collaborated on ‘My Power’.”

And Mihlali is all about the millions now with her reaching the million follower mark on Instagram. The social media beauty queen took to her page to thank her fans and followers for their love and support rocking a sparkly purple number in the post.
“A milli looks good on me #1Million. Shu, I had no idea in Dec 2014 while creating my IG acc that one day I would end up here. Thank you for believing in me, and for supporting me throughout my digital entrepreneurship journey. Thank you to my sponsors, brand partners and of course those who do gang work behind the scenes to keep the Mihlali N brand running. I love you all. ”
